Biography

Started learning to play bass trombone in 1957 in Northumberland. Played E flat bass for 2 years then went back to bass trombone. Left Newcastle in 1978 and joined the then Nostell Colliery Band and have played with them ever since.

Instrumental, along with other band colleagues, in setting up Crofton Junior Band in 1995 and still involved with this venture.

Being involved with the band has led to a good social life with this extremely friendly group and has included exchanges with a German band and many lively weekends at the CISWO Championships in Blackpool.
