Trophies Galore at Kiveton
The band continued its fine contesting form in style yesterday with a comprehensive victory at the 2nd Kiveton Brass Band Fesitval.
The band finished first in a field of ten bands after a polished performance of a twenty minute entertainments programme consisting of Cortege from Mlada, The Cossack, Crimond, Minnie the Moocher and Conquest of Paradise.
The performances of The Cossack and Crimond were also deemed worthy by ajudicator Stan Lippeatt to take home the trophies for Best March and Best Hymn Tune respectively.
In addition to the two trophies Tom Wellings walked away with the best soloist after a sensational performance of Minnie the Moocher on Bass Trombone, although the band may say the singing was what really won it!
